The About Page

Wait… you want to read about me?

Long story or the short story?

I’ll start with the short, then I’ll move onto the long.

SHORT

I’m a Pest Inspector and Content Creator.

I hold a Branch 2 (general pest) and a Branch 3 (Wood Destroying Organisms/WDO) license with the California Structural Pest Control Board.

I primarily practice with my Branch 3 license doing WDO inspections, though the occasional general pest inspection I’ll preform from time to time as needed.

I have a wife and three kids, I live in the Bay Area near San Francisco (I only say this so just about anyone can know the general region). Though I travel far in California doing inspections.

I post my content on TikTok and YouTube with an Inspection ASMR theme. I relax folks while stressing the importance of getting a proper inspection. So I relax folks by letting them know, when in the right hands you are taken care of. This up and coming generation of home buyers will be much more savvy, and I plan to help.

LONG

As a child of the 80’s my father would take me to work with him, and have me help. So I’ve been working sense age 8, not in pest control yet, no, my father is a painting contractor. I shuffled around the work force a lot in my early years working at a comic book shop, video store (remember those?), elementary school cafeteria. Then when I was actually old enough to get a ‘real job’ I went though the basics of Retail (target/staples). Around this time I was spending much time in Science Camps (sleep over camps for schools) as a camp counselor. I’ve been an administrative assistant (office bitch for two different business in the same building) during the days when DSL was coming out replacing the 56k modems making me an IT guy as well at that time. I tried my hands with UPS as a preloader (waking up at 2AM to get to work), and started management there as a preload supervisor (one of the worst jobs).

With a mindset that ‘management’ and ‘supervisors’ was the way to go, I climbed the ladder about everywhere I went for a while. I managed a few Starbucks (I prefer Peets and Philz) before moving into sales. Starting with SleepTrain/Mattress Discounters\GotSleep\SleepCountry) (before they switched over to MattressFirm). I went then into outside sales (cabinetry for Bay Home and Window, didn’t manage there), giving me my first taste at freedom (traveling to sites beyond the office on a daily).

Looking for a job in which I really wouldn’t have to worry about ‘loosing the job’ due to this/that/another, I went into Pest Control. As an uncle once told me, “If you are willing to do something others are not, you have job security).

Starting in Terminix I quickly grew tired of their management and while the topic of pest control and entomology was exciting I had to grow. I switched to Omega in Oakland where I got some of the BEST training, although… as management goes I quickly learned that being able to speak your mind is not something you can do everywhere. So after being fired (yeah, I can be an ass sometimes) I came to Pacific Pest Management where a friend of mine (Jim, a home inspector) encouraged me to post videos/pictures of our experiences in the field as many people do not get to see something like this ever.

Now mind you, social media was something I was not a big fan of because Facebook/Meta drove me down to the bottom of a bottle and I almost lost myself in my depression. So with a healthy fear of social media it broke my heart when my oldest said he wanted to be “An Influencer” when he grew up. Determined to showcase just how hard it is to even become on, I took Jim’s advise and started posting.

Only a month went by before Jim was right, people DON’T see what we do, and it was interesting for many my popularity started to explode. My oldest son though, saw how much work I put into it though on a daily basis as it literally turned into yet another job that took time, quickly abandoned the goal to become “An Influencer”. Though I do employ him and my other children to help me make videos for TikTok and YouTube, as Nary Kickols (fake name, I dislike her) complained about my son being on site with me. I understand, I dislike her because she didnt want me as her inspector anymore and she constantly went with the ‘other’ guy in the company which was sad… he sucked, big time. (I dislike her because she sells homes that range from 1-22 million dollars in the Bay Area, and she knowing uses a bad inspector… so she doesn’t hit her commissions with more findings.. yeah, I dislike her because she is a scumball, infact I will give FREE inspections to buying parties of one of her properties).

Know, truth be told… this “Long” story is still missing A LOT, I mean, 40+ years of life experience, 30+ years work experience, 20+ years Management and training Experience, 10+ years working with Children... It’s difficult to form it all into a ‘story’ heck, every person in this world could have a book about them. So I’m sure you understand gaps trying to fit my story into a couple of paragraphs.

Heck! I havn’t even gone into the money and effort I’ve dumped into my local community to upbuild the realtors and their associations as well as the local schools which I’ve had ongoing projects with. Why mention it, because you should know one of the most impactful experiences of my life was when I volunteered in those science caps. It’s not just Training, its Caring. I’m old enough now to really see that what I can offer has to be passed down to others and the next generation so we can grow as a whole.

Pest Control is as old as Agriculture. If your food wasn’t safe, plague/famine. If your home isn’t secure, earthquakes/rot. I believe I have been shuffled around enough in this world to finally find a spot where I can comfortably say.. I’m here. So lookout CA, a new generation of experts is in the making.

Now, if you have read this far… perhaps we should have a cup of coffee or play a game of magic or something. We should hang out, because one of the coolest thing in my experiences is the vast amount of people I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. So as you have read this, perhaps you can share something about yourself.

(This was not written by AI, and has been edited once so far, so it’s pretty rough)
